The Matsuyama Autumn Festival is a grand autumn festival held annually from October 5 to 7 at shrines throughout Matsuyama. During this period, the highlight—especially early in the morning on the 7th—is held in front of Dogo Onsen Station, where multiple portable shrines clash together with tremendous force. This spectacular display is not to be missed.
Since it's held near Dogo Onsen, it's easy to participate as part of your sightseeing visit—one of the festival's appeals. It's a wonderful opportunity to experience autumn traditions firsthand and connect with the local culture.
